Serves: 10
For the Pastry
  • 224g Plain Flour
  • 56g Lard
  • 112g Unsalted Butter
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Curry Powder
  • 125ml Water
For the Mince
  • 750g Lean Beef Mince
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Scotch Bonnet Peppers or another spicy pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Curry Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Beef Stock Cube
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershine Sauce
  • A little water to keep it moist
  • 1 slice of bread broken into bits
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
For the Pastry
  1. In a food processor, blend all the dry ingredients together and then add the water a little at a time until the dough comes together
  2. Roll into a ball, cover in cling film and leave in the fridge for a while
For the Mince
  1. In a small amount of oil, fry the onions and scotch bonnets for 2-3 minutes and then add the mince
  2. Add all the spices and the stock cube and mix together until cooked
  3. Add the bread to make the mince a bit more 'mushy'
  4. Once everything is ready, roll the pastry and cut out circles around 6cm diameter
  5. Add the mince into the middle and fold
  6. Use a fork to seal the ends
  7. Bake at 200oC fan for 25 minutes
